Moonchild Turkish Goods is a women-owned, social impact small business based in NY and Istanbul. Their social impact business sells house socks (patik) from Turkey, designed and manufactured by Anatolian women, a cultural heritage item that has been designed by women since the 7th century BC in Anatolia and Mesopotamia. Telling the stories of Anatolian women one patik at a time is a passion and a PhD dissertation of our founder who is a PhD student in Global Gender Studies. Each item is unique and designed with motifs that are reflective of the imagination and creativity of women living in different parts of the country. 

Moonchild Turkish Goods reclaims women’s traditional artistic and cultural production to highlight the amount of skill, physical, and emotional labor going in producing these traditional handcrafts as well as the role women’s cultural production plays in shaping cultural values, identity, memory and heritage in a society.
